How do Cataracts affect vision?

Vision changes from cataracts developing slowly.  Some people become somewhat accustomed to their decreased vision.  Over time cataracts cause increasing levels of blurry or hazy vision.  Halos around lights, problems with glare, colors appearing washed-out, poor night vision, and difficulty reading without bright lights are common complaints.  Rapid changes in your eyeglass prescription are also common.  It is time to have cataract surgery when your decreasing vision makes it difficult or impossible to carry on your daily activities.
